St. John’s Cemetery on the Humber is an active family cemetery; with burial spaces available to Denison descendants and their spouses. Each interment is handled with care, respecting family traditions and providing a peaceful setting for remembrance. Our goal is to provide clear information and support, helping you through this difficult time with compassion and dignity.

Our Burial Process

If you’re visiting this page after the loss of a loved one, please accept our heartfelt condolences. Whether you’re navigating a recent loss or planning ahead, we’re here to support you through the process with care and clarity.

Burial plots at St. John’s Cemetery on the Humber are available, at no charge, to descendants of Captain John Denison and their spouses, with some costs for burial services and government fees.

Your funeral home will help plan the service, register the death, and provide necessary documentation.

Confirm Eligibility for Burial

We’ll verify your loved one’s eligibility as a descendant or spouse, and may request documentation if needed. Refer to the Right of Burial for more details.

Burial Location and Date

Together with you, we’ll select a suitable plot, typically near other close family members, and confirm a burial date.

Coordinate the Interment

You will need to submit the required paperwork. We will arrange for grave opening. If you require a minister, tent, chairs, portable toilet, we can offer certain guidance but you will be responsible for making the arrangements.

Install a Monument (Optional)

If you wish to place a monument, you will need to submit a simple application to us and follow our cemetery guidelines. You’ll be responsible for all costs.
